The 7th Asian Museum Curators' Conference
ASIAN MUSEUM CURATOR'S CONFERENCE 2011
The Japan Foundation has organized its first Asian Museum Curators' Conference in 2005 to provide opportunities for sharing information and building network among the junior curators who work in the Asian region. The conference functions as a place for discussing curatorial practices, collection and conservation of artworks, and other issues that concern their profession.
The 7th conference will be held in Japan again to coincide with the Yokohama Triennale 2011 to open this summer.
Date: September 26, 2011 – October 1, 2011 (6 days, 5 nights)
Venue: JFIC hall "Sakura," The Japan Foundation
Financial provisions:
Participants
・Airfare (Airport of embarkation – Narita/Haneda Airport – Airport of disembarkation)
・Accommodation（*the Japan Foundation will book the hotel that cost within 10,000JPY per night）
・Travel insurance
・Per diem (local transportation cost and meals or other relevant cost)
Organizer
・Reservation of the hotel on behalf of participants (upon your request)
・Arrangement of site visits and conference venues
・Preparation documents and materials for conference
Eligibility
・Curators of age 40 or under who belongs museums or independent
・To have expertise and experience in the area of modern and contemporary visual arts
・To have English or Japanese proficiency, necessary to carry out presentations and discussions
・To have interests in networking with their peers in Asia and undertaking co-curatorial researches and projects in the future
Obligations
To make a 30 minutes presentation that refers to following two subjects
・Explaining and opinions about circumstance of Art scene in own country
・Own exhibition plan in past or future
*10 minutes for answering questions and exchange opinions must be included
To participate
Curators who are interested in participating are asked to send the attached "Reply Form1-3" to the organizers below by no later than Monday, August 15, 2011 by e-mail.

*Reply Form must be written in English.
*All items on the form including CV and summary of your presentation have to be filled.
